Sophmore First Semester

My semester this year was great. I had a great roomate that I had known for a long time and we have gotten along great together. I had started out working this semester but I stopped. Even though I dont have any money I have peace and time, which I wouldn't trade for anything. I have been through alot this semester and is still going through somethings but my overall semester has been great!

Relationships

When deciding on being in a relationship there is alot you have to decide on. There is also alot that you have to give up. This includes your time, yourself, your freindship, and your love. If one decides to give up all of these and the other refuses there is going to be alot of trouble. It is going to create alot of trouble because the relationship will be unbalanced and an unbalanced relationship will never work!!! So remember if your not willing to make this relationship a priority and not something you do just for fun, don't waste your time!

Getaway

Sometimes I wish I could hide away. Looking for a place to getaway,getaway from all the heartache and pain that life can bring. I really don't wanna sound like I can't hold my ground,but everybody needs some time that they can getaway.Sometimes I wish I was invisible cause then no one will know where I am to ask me for anything cause i've given so much of me when it's a time for me to receive? Who's going to look out for me? You know I'm not superwoman and i'm not made of steel. I try my best to handle all I have to deal with it's not as easy as it seems and to think this was my thing. Now for everything I have I'm grateful But sometimes I want to get away.

Thanksgiving with my BF

This Thanksgiving I went to Natchez with my boyfriend and spent the holidays with his family and went to there family reunion. I left Wednesday around seven and arrived in Natchez at about 9. I thought we were kinda late to hang out and see the family but we was just in time for the fun. Everybody was all gathering around and laughing and talking about old times. I knew most of my boyfriends family and they knew me but there were a couple of people that I didn't quite remember so I can say today that I know mostly everyone. Well Thanksgiving day had arrived and we didn't get up and dressed until about 11 and went to go meet up with the family again. We all prayed and ate and then everyone just sat around and watched the guys play basketball. Thanksgiving was great and I had learned that I had alot to be thankful for. For life, family, friends, and a place to always go!!

Rough Draft

When you first come to college it is a very exciting experience that sticks with you for a lifetime. Staying on campus is also one of those exciting experiences. There are a few positive things and there are also a few negative things. Being away from home for either the first time or for a long period of time is what also seems to be the reason for that excitement. But that excitement sometimes decreases when college students actual realize how they are going to have to live for the past couple of months here on campus. The unhealthy eating habits, causing you to gain the freshman fifteen, staying up extra late causes your body to get use to unhealthy sleeping habits, and showering in unclean community showers, are all things that describe a college life. The college community showers are very disgusting, filthy and an unclean place to bath.
When I first came to USM, I was very excited because it was my first time being home for a long period of time. Although, that excitement soon decreased when I was told my new bathing place is a community shower with about thirty different girls. It was very unusual for the first time, but soon it became something I became immune to but not use to. The showers seem to become even dirtier and disgusting as each day went by. I dreaded each day to actual get up and take a shower. Every time you go in the showers there is always dirt every where, there is always hair every where, and there is no privacy any where.
The showers are made very small. When you enter in the showers there is a door that you enter in and there are three showers to your left. The shower doors are curtains that are hard to open and close. There is a part that you enter where you can put your towel, robe, soap and towel you wash with. Then there is another curtain that leads you to the shower part. The curtains are always touching and sticking to you. Therefore hair and dirt are getting on you and sticking to you also. The floor is aligned with stone tile that is always wet and dirty also from the shower shoes worn.

NO THANKSGIVING!!!!!!

This year I will be spending Thanksgiving with my boyfriend instead of my family. Although, it is sad I am really looking forward to spending our first Holiday together. Although, on the other hand I will be missing my mom, dad, and sisters, and not to mention my mom's home cooking. Thanksiving to me has always been a holiday where I could see all of my family members and laugh and talk about old times, but this year will be different. I guess with age comes alot of change I just pray not too much at one time...so Christmas I guess is my holiday that I am really looking forward to....because for sure I am really going home!!!

Y Me!!!!

Do you find yourself sometimes asking the question why me? If so your not alone because I find myself asking that same question all the time. Sometimes there are things that happen in your life that makes you wonder is this real, is this really happening to me if so why. Growing up I was taught in church that you should not question God because he knows whats best for you and that everything happens for a reason. But sometimes that isn't a good enough answer to go along with my question or to help me feel better about the situation....so I do, I question God and I look for an answer also. But he comes back and says that He is God....and that little phrase always gives me a feeling of peace. So remember for the ups and downs in your life trust God for he knows....he knows!

SHOWTIME @ THE APOLLO!!!!

Today is a very exciting day!!!! It is exciting because I am suppose to perform along with my choir in Apollo and we are all excited about it. Although, I pray that we do extremely well and that everyone there will enjoy it!!!! My boyfriend along with his mom is suppose to be there, and also my roomate will be there too!!!! So I am very excited!!! Ya go AASO Gospel Choir!!!!

Friendship

Friendship, has always been important to me but in the past years I have come to realize that it is not all that important to me anymore. Now don't get me wrong I'm not anti social but I am tired of being hurt. Now I have learned to take the word friend way more serious than when I was younger. Yes I have struggled alot with people that I have called friends and best friends but have let me down and have not shown to be what I thought they would be. But I have learned that you live and learn and life still goes on friend or no friend....

HOMESICK

This past weekend I had experienced the feeling of being homesick. I can't believe it finally hit me, right before my birthday. I thought that my parents being far away wouldn't affect me the way it has, but it did. Although, I feel alot better because I talked to my Mom and she helped me feel better, I still feel homesick. So I can't wait until Thanksgiving comes and I get to go home to Houston Texas and be with my Mom, Dad, and my two younger sisters.... Can't Wait!!!!!

I.D.E.A.L Women

This past week or so I have been trying to be apart of I.D.E.A.L Women. I.D.E.A.L Women is a organization of women that strive in promoting and uplifting minority women on campus. I.D.E.A.L stands for intelligent, dignified, elegant, ambitous, leading women. I.D.E.A.L is also apart of the NACWC, which is the National Association of Colored Womens Club. It is the oldest womens organization in the world. Anyway for the last week I have been going to sessions to be apart of I.D.E.A.L Women, and last Wednesday I had to attend, what they call a mixer, and after that night they would cut people and the next step is an interview and I am so happy I made the cut for the interviews. So now I have an interview on Friday at 4:30!!!!

Justin Timberlake's song Until The End Of Time, is my all time favorite song right now. I feel that he just looked into my heart and saw what I was feeling and thinking. Me and my boyfriend have been dating for two years and six months and counting and I love this boy to death. And Justin's song Until the End of Time talks about how that if he could just have her love for a life time then that would be enough until the end of time, and this is exactly how I feel about my boyfriend!!! Love Ya Babe!!!!

My Chemistry Test!!!!!

On Tuesday September 11th I took my first chemistry test. I really thought that I wasn't going to do a good job, althogh I had taken chemistry 100(elementry chemistry) I still thought that I wasn't prepared for the exam to be given on Tuesday. So anyway to prepare I did my homework came to class everyday and studied some the day before the test. Well that morning of the test I was a little freaked out because I didn't know what to expect on the the test. So I ate a good breakfast(something I really don't do) and went to my first class at night 9:30. Then my next class was chemistry. So I went to class to take the test, and I was very excited that I also was going to get out early. When we got in class my teacher announced that we would get our results on owl(our online homework) and that they would be on their later that day. So later that day I checked and It was on there and I had made................an.................I had made an *$(84)!!!!!

Labor Day Weekend

My Labor Day weekend was horrible. First, I had to work the whole weekend. Then on game day I had planned on going to the game but it had rained and I knew for sure if I were to go I was going to get sick. Anyway instead of going to the game I went out shopping and to the movies with my boyfriend, not thinking that going out either way was going to make me sick. Well, I do not want to get ahead of myself so let me start from that friday. Well as you know I had to work as I had told you earlier, and as of now I do not have my own car so I pay my friend to take me there and from work. Anyway when friday night came and I was ready to get off of work, I called my friend to come get me and she said to me that she did not have any gas. So it was about 11:30 that night and I did not know anyone else to call because I thought I had a stable ride. So some guys from my job offered to take me back to campus. As gulliable as I was I said sure and so we headed to campus. Because It was late the guy decided to take the back road behind the mall to get to campus. Thinking nothing about it, everything seemed okay to me, but little did I know there would be a road block with police. The guy spotted the police and decided to bag back and turn around, but it was too late the police had already spotted us. So the guy turned to me and asked me did I have my license and I answered yes, so he ordered me to get in the drivers seat because he did not have a license himself. So we quickly switched. By that time the police had made it to our car and ordered me to show him my license and insurance on the car. I showed him my license but did not know anything about insurance on the car. So i told the police officer that this car wasn't mines and told him who it was. So the police officer asked the guy about the insurance on the car and the guy answered and said he didn't have any. So the police asked us to step out of the car and he asked us a few questions. After the question and answer period the police ran our names and social security numbers through the system and come to find out the the guy and his brother had warrents out for their arrest, had no license and in the car was an illegal drug( which he had swallowed and ate before the police had came). Although, everything seemed to be going wrong the police did not arrest any of us or take us to jail because he was not in his district, so he let us go. So I made it to my room safetly but shaken up. Saturday came and I had slept most of the day, and late that night I went out, as you all already know. So Sunday, had came and I went to work that night, and again I thought I had a stable ride, but my friend decided to go to the movies and told me at the last minute that he couldn't pick me up. So I was frantic again because I didn't know how I was going to get back to campus, and I sure as Hell wasn't going to ride with anybody else I didn't know so I called my boyfriend and because he knows a couple of people down here he called one of his friend guys to come get me, and being nice he did. Monday came and thats when I had gotten sick, so I stayed in my room most of the day.....and like Monaday I am still sick!!!!

My 2007 Summer

My 2007 summer began on May 18, and that is when I moved back home to Madison Mississippi from college here in Hattiesburg. Although, I dreaded to go home I kinda missed my two little sisters and my parents. This summer was very busy and unusally for me. My familly moved to Houston Texas and I went also for the summer but would eventually move back to Mississippi with my oldest sister and continue my education here at Southern. Well the whole month of June I worked at my old job in Madison during the day and packed at night. We moved on the 23rd of June. I loved Houston although I wouldn't consider living there becsuse of the hecked traffic and because it is always busy there. While in Houston I meet alot of different people of all types and races. I loved it. The mall is great. Houston has plenty of malls although its main mall is called the Galleria and it is located downtown. It has three parts to it and the second part has an ice park inside. Houston has alot of parts to it, i didn't learn all the different parts because it is so many, hopefully one day I will. I also went to the beach this summer. I went to the beach in Galveston which is about 30 minutes away from Houston. In Auust I moved back to Mississippi for school on August 18th. Then I moved here to campus and that Wednesday is when classes begun and you can pretty much say thats when my summer ended. Although, it was fun while it lasted, and this coming summer I plan on going to summer school so wish me luck!!!!!
